Business Development Assistant

This is a key position within the Business Development team and reporting into the Director of Sales. Your key function is to provide accurate, timely and organised administrational support to ensure the smooth and timely running of processes across our business services including gas, electricity, water and fibre utility infrastructure projects. Incorporating administrational and marketing support, this position offers you the variation and opportunity to develop your skills in new areas.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintaining professional client facing approach and excellent customer service to both new and existing clients.
· To carry out all administration activities for the BD team to ensure smooth timely running of processes.
· Maintaining contact and customer databases.
· Supporting marketing campaigns as required.
· Procure Merchandising collateral and manage stock.
· Conduct market intelligence and lead generation.
· Maintain online database and electronic files including enquiry inbox and group BD calendar.
· Book client events, accommodation and exhibition space.
· Maintain entertaining and marketing budgets.
· Maintain website and update with required content.
· Provide performance data to support preparation of weekly and monthly reports including sales tracker

Skills and Experience:

· Strong co-ordination and administrational skills with experience in a similar position.
· Knowledge of an office environment and administration processes.
· Positive attitude towards customer service and understanding of its impact on business performance.
· Knowledge and awareness of continuous improvement within existing and new processes.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain compelling relationships.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Proactive and motivated approach.
· Empathetic approach to both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to investigate, resolve and/or escalate client issues/requirements.

· Strong IT skills including MS Suite.
· NVQ in Business Administration would be an advantage.
